q: is there anything your fans have done that made you feel especially moved?

🐰: i remember back when i was shooting a historical costume drama, only about a dozen or so people showed up to support me when filming first began. we had a really happy time together, and after the fan support ended, i left.

but then later, by the time that same drama wrapped up production, fifty or even a hundred people showed up.

standing there in front of them, you suddenly hit a moment where you just want to cry. you start to think, “wow, since so many people have actually come here just for me” and you see how much the level of how you are loved has changed, it really makes you feel like, “i need to film even more projects to show everyone”

q: among the things your fans have said to you, what do you find to be the most encouraging?

🐰: seeing your growth... it isn’t just your mom who sheds tears

because as public figures, we are bound to endure some things—whether good or bad.

at the very beginning of my debut, i used to think that maybe i was carrying all of this entirely on my own.

but when you have a whole group of people standing right behind you, you realize that they will share in your unhappiness or whatever you’re going through; they will truly empathize with you and feel exactly what you feel.

seeing your growth... it isn’t just a mother who sheds tears of pride.

because of that, it makes me want to do even better. i hope i can protect them well and protect them from getting hurt

jackie chan is xu ruohan’s mentor in acting, in the show 超越目标坞民 (beyond the target: wonderland residents), xu ruohan shared her experience of entering the industry

gao yue: suddenly from this animation major switching to this opportunity to be an actor right?

🐰: my first acting role/film was a project by elder brother jackie chan so i was just very lucky. i was only in my third year of university back then so i just went out on my own to meet them.

🐰: and during that first meeting i was, like, completely frozen, you know what I mean? because before that, those were people i’d only ever seen in film studies classes or on screen

🐰: then they asked me, “so, what do you do right now?” and i said, “i’m studying animation”

after that, there was a video recording segment for me to do a self-introduction. so I recorded it, and as soon as it was done, i left.

🐰: half a month later, they contacted me and said, “alright, come to shanghai for a costume and makeup test”

🐰: so i did the test. i was so happy. that movie was full of veteran industry seniors. they basically taught me everything from scratch, like a blank sheet of paper. and jackie chan was also incredibly good to me.

🐰: then my second project was vanguard which is where i met yang yang ge and everyone else. and then step by step, i just kept moving in this direction. it was so surreal. i was just very lucky.

gy: that experience really sounds amazing.

🐰: yes. but down the line, as you come to realize, luck is only temporary. in the end, you have to rely on your own hard work. so, i’ve been slowly learning step by step. life is all about trying different things.

gaohan: on this acting journey, who do you feel has helped you the most?

🐰: it would have to be jackie chan. if it weren't for him, there’s no way i would be in this industry today.

as everyone in wonderland s6 shared stories from their childhood, xixi quietly listened. little by little, her eyes turned red, and once the tears started falling, they didn’t stop for almost an hour.

that’s just who xixi is. she has such a tender heart that she can’t help but carry other people’s emotions as if they were her own. sometimes, it genuinely makes me wonder how anyone could ever choose to be unkind to someone with a heart this soft.

somehow, seeing everyone surround xixi and comfort her made the whole moment feel warm instead of sad. our little crybaby never had to cry alone. 🥹
