I am once again inspired by @eduprotocols and all the book bentos out there. This is something that could be done over and over with novels, short stories, picture books. Can't wait to try this out with my students when we finish "Blood on the River."
@VeeraHira @bookpage My copy arrived last week and has created quite a stir in my 6th grade classroom. We are currently reading THE NIGHT DIARY, and the kids are LOVING it! Thanks for being a model of beautiful writing. There is a literal waiting list for AMIL AND THE AFTER.
Students used the Frayer Model from @eduprotocols to "frayer" each of the three main characters from the novel, "Refugee." They then used the AI image generator (Canva) to add character images. Students were much more engaged in this writing as an alternative to essay writing.
Teachers! To celebrate the release I Survived the Great Alaska Earthquake, 1964, I am giving away five personalized and SIGNED copies! RT to enter. I'll announce winners on 11/20. โค๏ธโ๏ธ
I created this to use with 6th graders to have fun with Point of View. I will make a copy of the slide for each student on a shared slide deck that they can edit. Students will claim a slide and have some fun! Feel free to make a copy. https://t.co/ZEOfNAQj6W
@EDUwithEmily I'm in the second year of my second 5/6 loop, and I absolutely LOVE it. Year two with the same kids is a dream. Planning for the new curriculum was a lot of work, but now that it's done, I hope to loop until I retire. This is my 33rd year of teaching, and it's one of the best.
These were two of my favorite "Sketch and Tell" @eduprotocols submissions for "Insignificant Events in the Life of a Cactus." My Ss LOVED this novel. They clapped when we finished. @DustiBowling Thank you for motivating 6th graders to read.
@Barbaradee2 I just pre-ordered the paperback for my class. Hoping it also speaks to some of the eco-anxious adults in my life who enjoy a good middle grade story. :)
