Practice education seemed daunting at first however, the experiences we were privileged to have as students with Bolton Clarke gave us quite a valuable insight into the hard work that goes into supporting so many individuals. In practice, the learning really happens #OENV18

Changing our focus from "what can I do for this person?" 2 "who is this person & what do they need?" One of the ways we discussed in class 2 achieve this was by actively seeking information by building rapport &trust 2 understand our client as a social &occupational being #OENV18

@TangGabrielle Also considering those unearned privileges we may have and ensuring that we don't use these to acert power, rather build trustful relationships. I really liked the example from the reading of being consistent in what is said, and what is done #OENV18

Hearing about the raw struggles individuals have experienced in therapy due to the power withheld &held over them is devastating. However I feel more confident in my ability as a futureOT 2 create a supportive practice that enables occ opportunities through #powersharing #OENV18

Finally some social justice for women as the WSL announces the gender paygap to be closed at the kickstart of 2019! We're finally going to see equality in pay in surfing competitions. This finally acknowledges the worth women bring to the sport #OENV18

This article elaborates on the shameful actions of NDIS... NDIS needs to support the individual differences of autistic people in society rather than use these differences against them to limit their funding and oppresses them further #OENV18

@martin_sandry A shame that the physical layout that was held in such high regards created a culture of fear and a threat to the security that the residents of Claymore were deprived of. They didn't even feel safe in their own backyards... #OENV18
