@david_colquhoun@BrianNosek The un-garbled version is strikingly US-centric, while failing to even mention that it reports exclusively on US perceptions.
@grhmc Yet, many times it doesn't: almost any word starting with a vowel and emphasis on the first syllable is still pronounced with a glottal stop after "an".
All NeuroImage and NeuroImage:Reports editors have resigned over the high publication fee, and are starting a new non-profit journal

This comes with great regret, and a huge amount of thought and discussion- please read announcement to get more details.
@ChelseaParlett It might be worth mentioning that sips is specific to Apple. A suitable cross-platform tool is Imagemagick. The equivalent of your whole loop there would be 'mogrify -format png *.pdf'. Complete with a Calvin & Hobbes allusion 😄
@Alex_Leemans Thought so. Is there no way you can withdraw and submit to a publisher who doesn't persistently screw all of us over by making billions off of our work?
@Alex_Leemans Yet here the publisher turns past co-authorship into a corpus delicti of the crime of suggesting a reviewer whom the authors know to be competent.
@Alex_Leemans Elsevier, right? Let's be clear: reviewer suggestions are a favour we do as authors. It makes the editor's job easier, but the job is still theirs to assess whether a potential reviewer may be biased. Past co-authorships are no more than a feeble guide for this.

@fMRI_guy What a pointless pursuit. You cannot compare scientific research efforts while they are underway. And what kind of scale are you proposing for measuring larger or smaller quantities of "cutting-edgeness"?
@grhmc Why not get a portable induction burner and place it on the stove? Probably disable the flame to avoid accidentally burning the induction plate from below ...
@JamesRobichaux@NikolaosLibero@vermontgmg @netbacker Arrgh, you've caught me! How about "As an expert (I will say that) oranges are apples", where "I will say that" gets replaced by a comma? Does that illustrate the mistake?
