@thellamapool@MrEricLuddland@Awk20000 It's amazing. Wherever there's a Hasan post Mr. Eric is already underneath it, it's kind of impressive. I guess it's the closest he can get to being under Hasan. He's even become a recurring character in THE LEGENDARY SERIES. Absolutely diabolical.
OK, so I guess you really are just dense then. All good brodie, let me break it down:
pgLang operates through Interscope. Interscope is owned by UMG. Drake is in active conflict with UMG over contracts and business disputes.
Dot was given a clean, uninterrupted rollout for GNX that came with massive platform support and viral spread. There was none of the resistance we're seeing now with ICEMAN through DMCA enforcement.
That effectively gave creators full coverage of the rollout and allowed pages to freely clip, repost, and push the release to maximum exposure and virality.
The broader point is that UMG can tilt visibility, momentum, and ultimately public perception around a project. Dot was always going to be the winner because he was always positioned to win.
They have a pretty clear incentive to keep Drake from regaining the level of leverage and bargaining power that comes with being back on top.
The tactics being used now are the exact same mechanisms Drake was trying to expose in the lawsuit everyone clowned him for.
@DavySoWavy87@TheMindOfHY I can't tell if you're deliberately missing the point or just genuinely dense. Yes, they’re licensed to distribute it - that isn't the argument. The point is they're issuing takedowns to suppress exposure. Crazy how no takedowns appeared during the GNX rollout though, huh? Weird.
@clippedszn Crazy how so many streamers are suddenly hitting massive wins on Shuffle over the last 48hrs, huh? Definitely has nothing to do with the truckloads of marketing $ behind this obvious registration drive. I'm all for gambling but pretending these wins are organic is mad scummy.
Their efforts are futile at this point, tbh. The cat's already out of the bag on the shady tactics they use to artificially prop up those willing to push their narrative forward while simultaneously taking aggressive action to try to silence anyone who refuses to play ball.
Hopefully this turns into the very thing they were trying to avoid and becomes an absolute PR dumpster fire.
@DavySoWavy87@TheMindOfHY I think what you’re failing to comprehend is that UMG's actions are demonstrating the very hypocrisy Drake has been attempting to expose. DMCA notices are selectively weaponised to control the narrative once the status quo no longer serves their agenda.
@Waffl3x@oxcrowx I didn’t see that, but it’s not something I’d defend either. resorting to personal attacks instead of arguing against the points being presented is lazy.
but from my experience that person is not a representation of Odin "fans", I wouldn't lump them all in with that guy.
@tony914_@oxcrowx I agree with you and I'm all for constructive criticism! this back and forth started because Bill requested that feedback:
https://t.co/q4txBpP5OL
but there’s constructive criticism and then there’s just hatin’ for hatin’s sake. I think we're seeing more of the latter here.
@oxcrowx I'd love you to be open about it, please. Especially since I like knowing what people like or dislike about Odin, and the rationale behind it.
@Waffl3x@oxcrowx who is being harassed in this context? I was just pointing out that even if @oxcrowx's criticisms were legit, people might be less likely to take them seriously as the discussion is starting to look more like a personal campaign against Bill than an objective critique of Odin.
@oxcrowx my use of "unhinged" was probably a bit much in this context but you’re definitely a certifiable hater, lol. it makes whatever information you’re presenting hard to digest without taking it with a grain of salt because it all comes across as disingenuous.
@oxcrowx (your daily dose of unsolicited opinions): but watching this all play out on the timeline, even if your criticisms of Odin were valid, you kind of come across as unhinged at this point. why are you so angry, dude?!
@clippedszn Most invest in crypto without fully understanding it and then need someone to blame when it all goes south. He’s better off not publicly endorsing crypto projects. If he wins, he’s labelled a scammer. If he loses, he loses $ and is still labelled a scammer. It's a zero-sum game.
