After World War II, the Smith-Mundt Act was passed to stop the U.S. government from using propaganda against its own citizens. But in 2012, during the Obama administration, a reversal of that act was quietly inserted into a massive omnibus bill.

Since then, domestic propaganda has been legal — and that’s why today’s media often repeats the same narratives, word-for-word.

The federal government has no business funding painful experiments on dogs and cats. Especially not on the taxpayer dime.

We introduced the Preventing Animal Abuse and Waste Act to put a stop to it. Our bill prohibits the NIH from conducting or funding any research causing significant pain or distress to dogs and cats. If a study is classified under USDA pain levels D or E, the most extreme classifications of animal testing where pain is inflicted without relief, it is banned.

The reflecting pool was built in 1923 directly on swamp muck with no foundation. It sank about 1ft over the decades and leaked up to 500k gallons a week. In the 1980s they poured another concrete layer on top, which only made the sinking worse(x2 weight). In 2010-2012 they drove over 2,100 timber pilings down to bedrock. Even after that, uneven settling has continued to cause cracking in the concrete. The rubber liner added recently was the best practical fix they’ve tried so far.
If you want to see what happens when you build on unstable ground, look at 161 Maiden Lane in Manhattan the leaning skyscraper that’s now abandoned because of its bad foundation.

Title III of the Civil Rights Act of 1960, specifically 52 U.S.C. § 20703. That’s the federal law the DOJ cites to demand voter registration records from states. It lets the Attorney General issue a written demand for any election-related records that states have to keep — like stuff tied to voter registration — and those records have to be made available for inspection and copying.
