𝗕𝗶𝗿𝗯𝗵𝘂𝗺 𝗴𝗲𝘁𝘀 ₹𝟱𝟬𝟴.𝟲𝟲 𝗰𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝟭𝟰𝟴 𝗸𝗺 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝘂𝗽𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲.

The Union Government has approved ₹508.66 crore to strengthen and selectively widen 148.30 km of national highways in Birbhum. The project covers 91.90 km of NH-14 from Bhimgarh to Nalhati via Mallarpur and 56.40 km of NH-114 from Surul Village to Mallarpur. The work will upgrade existing stretches and improve road capacity.

The projects aim to improve road safety, ease congestion and reduce travel time while making passenger and freight movement smoother. The two corridors connect villages, towns and economic centres across Birbhum and carry local as well as commercial traffic. Better infrastructure is expected to strengthen connectivity, improve freight efficiency and support regional trade and local businesses.
