🚨 TEDx Under Fire: Laura Owens weaponizing FAKE domestic violence for attention and TEDxTalk 🚨

Pregnancy scammer Laura Michelle Owens gave her now-infamous TEDx talk on Dec 4, 2021 — hosted by Mercer Island High School and organized by Claes-Fredrik Mannby (@mannby).

Now, the school itself wants it gone.

After #LauraMichelleOwens documented a pattern of deception - including a 2023 Maricopa County Family Court ruling finding she falsified evidence, altered medical records, and committed perjury in a paternity case involving Clayton Echard - the school has formally requested removal of the talk and distanced itself from her entirely.

Owens was later indicted in 2025 on 14 felony counts, including fraud, perjury, and identity theft.

Yet the TEDx video remains up.

This directly contradicts TEDx guidelines, which require accurate, fact-checked content. Talks spreading misinformation can - and should - be removed.

Leaving this talk online:
• Amplifies proven falsehoods
• Damages victims like Mike Marraccini
• Undermines TEDx’s own credibility

Even @ChickenSoupSoul pulled Owens’ content after her scams were exposed.
