The flat housing market must get going again. 2 failed attempts to get it going and now a sudden U turn. It will be enshrined in law we must stay put until remediation is done. If I’m incorrect, please correct me, I would like to sell my flat @michaelgove#BuildingSafetyCrisis
@team_greenhalgh@LKPleasehold@LiamSpender@UKHouseofLords If leaseholders who bought a flat after 14th Feb are not protected why anybody would buy a flat? This will not free the market. It will make it worse. @michaelgove I was hoping to sell my flat and move on with my life. Am I trapped for another x years?
@team_greenhalgh@LKPleasehold@LiamSpender@UKHouseofLords But the question is still…..WILL LENDERS ACCEPT THIS and allow us to sell and mortgage our properties?!?!. We need assurance that EWS1 forms are NOT a condition of sale, that this legislation will reassure lenders that flats are safe to lend on #EndOurCladdingScandal
@Luhc please stop trying to divide and conquer those impacted by the #BuildingSafetyCrisis
Leaseholder, Landlord, Shared Owner, >18m >11m <11m, impacted by Cladding and Non-Cladding, should all be known by 1 label ‘Innocent’ and should not pay a penny!
#PolluterPaysAmendment
“I expect a public commitment to this framework by early March.” @michaelgove I’m interested to know if any developers have come forward yet? Early March is 3 weeks away… https://t.co/oOxzsc2NHi
I have been told today that our bill for the #BuildingSafetyCrisis will be £9000 - £12000 per leaseholder and due in April despite acceptance and approval by the building safety fund. @michaelgove@BorisJohnson@team_greenhalgh
I am sick of paying for others faults 😡😡😡
This morning I met with #Vauxhall leaseholders & Minister @team_greenhalgh .They each raised a spectrum of problems faced by so many leaseholders. Leaseholders have to be given protection against liability for all fire safety costs in law, to bring an end to this crisis.
#BuildingSafetyCrisis the Bill is just at the beginning of being scrutinised and amended in the Lords. There will be many amendments for its next stage. Including a full #polluterPaysAmendment
I urge @michaelgove and @team_greenhalgh to review cases like this before moving forward to submitting amendments. Forward fund remediation & release leaseholders from years of agony. The building will cost more to fix than it's worth. #BuildingSafetyCrisis
It's crazy to me that after 2 years of shouting and protests, handfuls of meetings with elected officials including @michaelgove and very clear explanations of how the existing measures fail - I don't have any idea of how I'm going to get out of the #BuildingSafetyCrisis
@MartinSLewis@RishiSunak@itvMLshow All people in flats pay commercial rates for communal power and ard going to be hit with 400% increases for something they can't control (£600- 1000 increases)
They also pay for individual use in their flats which is domestic capped. Push to end this discrepancy
I heard from one protestor that of her £800 monthly pension she pays £500 a month alone in service charges.
The fire safety scandal is going to devastate lives - people can't wait any longer for action 👇
Imagine if your home was bought for £89,000. But because of cladding and building safety failures it’s now worth ‘zero’
- and there’s a personal bill of £117,000 hanging over you.
Rachael in Leeds doesn’t have to imagine.
1 year since the scaffolding reached my apartment, but the majority of the time it has looked like the pic on the right (whether sunny or not). No idea how much longer... You get more daylight in prison (& less noise)
@ukcag@BrumLag#endourcladdingscandal#BuildingSafetyCrisis
There are no warm words that can counteract receiving an actual invoice in my name for over £112k (the first £28k of which I’m supposed to hand over in 25 days time?! )
Leaseholders need ACTUAL protection, in law, immediately.
💔
#BuildingSafetyCrisis#EndOurCladdingScandal
Today the amount I’ve paid for additional service charge for my flat has exceeded the total value of the deposit I put down the flat itself.
This is pre-cladding. Pre-internals. All wasted on waking watch and insurance. #BuildingSafetyCrisis@ukcag#LevellingUp
