"Women are thought to have a natural manual dexterity that makes them good at sewing but not surgery."
Yup.
Brilliant little entry at the @royalacademy#summer exhibition.

@christapeterso I feels like especially with the follow up comment that there is a sense of superiority attributed to the human and I think it's worth investigating what feelings that is rooted in, and what ideologies those may be tied to
@christapeterso Genuine question, why? Is the issue that it feels like personhood should only be reserved for humans? Or a view that certain types of relationships can only be developed with humans?
The irony of this trash can take is that transitioning is basically taking a pill to alleviate symptoms already. Itโs not trans people who have problems with the treatment, itโs everyone else around them. But those people shouldnโt get a say in our treatment.
Pregnancy and childbirth kill women daily, but so called โpro-lifeโ people demand anyone pregnant must risk death to stay pregnant, give birth. Now they say theyโll kill you themselves if you donโt risk death to give birth. Please believe them and start fighting these assholes.
This is the "round them up" part of the well-known process that starts with 'just asking questions."
Which is why many of us understand those "just asking questions" about trans people to be motivated by something other than love of free speech and open discourse.
โโฆso many of us come from people who never got to be cared forโฆ Interdependence means doing shit that is not glamorous, that is funky, that sometimes someone needs care and they are really pissing you off.โ

Every academic has two modes: responding to emails in <5 minutes with style & precision or hyperventilating into the abyss of their tea mug for the entire afternoon.
