@mcs_phd if we spend the same money on any other no-carbon option, we get vastly more electricity and begin generation many years sooner. on the economics, new nuclear is as dead as coal.

if a hydrocarbon-produced kWh is already more expensive than a non-carbon kWh, further adding a cost of scrubbing always results in worse carbon emissions per dollar spent.
