@Tinkeric@commandrsweekly I mean yeah you *should* be able to. But my point is he shouldnโt have been asked. Too much risk with no timeouts. A bunch can go wrong in that situation (and did), and whatโs the reward? Making it a 36 yarder instead of 41? To me the coaches gotta eat that.
@Tinkeric@commandrsweekly With all due respect, this is professional football, not college. Make him go out there and earn his paycheck. If you can't trust your kicker to hit a 41 yarder then that's more failure on the organization's part.
Itโs a movie dawg. If youโre a grown adult being influenced by movies to make certain life choices then you got bigger issues lol. Also, these types of situations really happen so isnโt that just art reflecting reality ๐คท๐ฝโโ๏ธ

@LivinNMusic@SrHepperle Again, making the situation more difficult than it needs to be. How about just call a damn spike? You're calling a play for what? To maybe make it a 37 yard FG instead of 40?
@dan_waitman A play was called. Which is why you see receivers running routes. A play shouldn't have been called in that situation period. Spike it to stop the clock then set up for a FG to win the game. That's coaching.
@CzechMateAO The only play that should have been called there was a spike. Stop the clock, then set up for a FG. Zero reason to run a real play there. That's coaching.
@GPinTN1 Exactly. Folks talking about trying to get more yards, for what? It would've been a 40-yard FG, not 55. This isn't college, make your kicker earn his paycheck. With no timeouts, too much can go wrong to try to make it 35 yards instead of 40.
@LivinNMusic@SrHepperle With WRs running down the field, you run the risk of a grounding penalty if you spike it once the ball was snapped. The play shouldn't have been called period, that's the point. It should have been a called spike. The coaches needlessly complicated the situation.
