Sea level update 🌊

Global average sea level rose by about 0.3 inches (0.76 centimeters) from 2022 to 2023, according to a @NASA-led analysis. This relatively large jump is due mostly to a warming climate and the development of a strong El Niño.

In August 2016, Dr. Kate Rubins became the first person to sequence DNA in space. After returning to Earth, Rubins became the Deputy Director of Human Health at NASA Johnson Space Center. Her journey reminds us that with curiosity and determination, the sky's not the limit. #STEM

This winter was the warmest in @nasa’s record, GISTEMP, and February 2024 was also the warmest February on record.

These warm winter months (Dec. 2023 - Feb. 2024) continue a long term warming trend caused by human activities.
