REPORT: Iran has claimed ownership over Antarctica and plans to build a military operation in the South Pole.
The announcement is a direct challenge to the Antarctic Treaty which bans military activity on the continent.
“We have property rights in the South Pole. We have a plan to raise our flag there and carry out military and scientific work,” said Iranian Navy Commander Rear Admiral Shahram Irani.
“Our scientists are getting ready for a joint operation, encompassing the efforts of all our people, in keeping with the guidelines of our Leader.”
He suggested that they have plans to have a permanent base on the continent.

Berry sued Gulf Coast Wings, Inc., Hooters' corporate owner, for breach of contract and fraudulent misrepresentation. In 2002, Berry and the company reached a settlement, with Berry receiving an undisclosed amount of money.
