"Research shows it costs taxpayers $31,065 a year to criminalize a single person experiencing homelessness while the yearly cost for providing supportive housing is $10,051."

Let's take a moment and thank Cheryl Johnson. Cheryl is the House clerk who has presided over the House Republican circus. She shouldn't have to do this, but she has truly kept the House in order during an unprecedented time and we should all thank her for her service.
What we are watching right now is a little funny, and very interesting, but it won’t be funny at all when these clowns have to actually do important things.
Seeing how much the world accepts that it’s impossible to move on after watching CPR really makes me think about how we (medical professionals, especially those who work in Emergency departments) are expected to just move on immediately after a code.
Corporate greed is Southwest getting a $7 billion bailout during the pandemic & spending $5.6 billion on stock buybacks to enrich wealthy shareholders, while stranded passengers are threatened with jail time for the crime of trying to rebook canceled flights during the holidays.
We tried to tell you a few years ago that bad actors didn't just takeover the Republican party the way Trump did, they tried the infiltrate the Democratic party too. Gabbard, Yang, Sinema. There's a pattern of behavior and you know it when you see it.
Don’t overthink Sen. Kyrsten Sinema switching from Democrat to Independent.
She’s not driven by ideology.
She’s driven by which corporations and lobbyists are giving her the most money — which makes her an elected mercenary, not an elected representative of the people.
Friendly reminder that Sinema has negative approval ratings with Dems, Rs AND independents and literally every demographic group in Arizona. Her base is Big Pharma and private equity. The idea that the Dems must defer to her in 2024 for fear of losing this seat is bananas.
I don’t know who needs to hear this but there’s literally no reason why companies that doubled their profits during the pandemic can’t afford to give paid sick leave to the workers who make it all possible.
Not only is Andor a genuinely phenomenal show that is incredible on every single technical level, it is also an unabashed manifesto for revolution against authoritarianism that is clear and unambiguous, and it just boggles the mind how freaking good it is
So #Andor is absolutely incredible. Sorry a lot of you didn’t find the time, but do yourself a favor and binge it before the new year. Easily the best thing on a screen in 2022. Not just for the nerds
We’re not all going to agree on what amounts to “abuse.” I believe teaching children that sin condemns them to hell is child abuse. I also believe drag queens reading a book to children is completely harmless. Others believe the opposite. But only one side is threatening murder.
