Meta's VR division will continue to operate at losses until 2030, as announced years ago. Building VR tech is incredibly hard and will require a lot of upfront investment. Their lucrative social media platform took 5 years to turn a profit, so this is understandable. The only question is can Meta continue to pay for losses till 2030? The answer is definitely yes. Even after paying for these losses, Meta still made $40 billion in profit in 2023 and $134 billion in revenue. Hence why Meta stock is at an all-time high.
