the only justification for Attack On Titan’s awful ending seems to be the “it’s all a cycle, conflict is inevitable etc”

what a boring theme to base the ending of a series on

i don’t want to watch and get invested in characters and world building that results in nothing

and is this really something we need to see? we’re all well aware of human nature and the inevitability of conflict throughout history. I simply don’t care to see it be one of the centre pieces of a story of which i assumed would’ve gone in a more complex direction

genuinely never seen anything like it, what a disgrace. ending built around fanservice and plot armour

what happened to the mature themes, character development and world building? why was all of this tossed out?

is it any surprise people feel Eren’s sudden ‘redemption’ arc in the very final chapter was a retcon? are we supposed to find it hard to believe that he always hated mikasa? i certainly didn’t, it made complete sense to me and i loved Eren’s character all the more for it

the same series in which Eren had to mature into a ruthless leader hell bent on the liberation of his people in the name of freedom now has him reduced to a bumbling idiot caught up on a girl he barely spoke to throughout the series, one who he was seemingly always annoyed by

if AOE happens tomorrow, Attack on Titan will be cemented as one of the greatest anime of all time

if not well then we already know how it’ll be remembered… all those who were there for the 139 drop will remember exactly how they felt. let’s hope nobody feels that way tomorrow

@FishLion4 maybe so, i have no real expectations but i am hoping and i think we’re all better off hoping for the outcome we want. it’s the last time we’re gonna be able to do it for AOT and we’ve come this far
