CSprings is one of the most conservative big cities in this state, and there's a reason we never moved back after leaving. I wish I could say I was surprised that this happened there, but I'm not.
It still hurts.
I spent most of my childhood in Colorado Springs. I grew up there. Some of my family still lives there. I met and married my wife there.
I don't really know what I'm trying to say, other than that this one feels uniquely personal. This isn't okay.
This isn't okay.
Got laid off today. Treating myself to delivery dinner and a single beer, then it's back to focusing on recovering from covid.
I'll be okay, the timing just sucks. Any uh, mutuals with any leads wouldn't hurt though, lol...
Twitter has been my internet home since 2009 and damnit, I'm gonna miss this place, flaws and all.
It'll probably take me some time to get cozy in a new internet corner, but Tumblr and Pillowfort are calling to me the most.
If it all collapses soon, thank you for everything!
@frenchpressplz Aw, thank you! And yeah, there's plenty of room for those kinds of stories. We might not rave about every one of them, but they all meant something to us.
Even though my comic in Sparkler was never considered for awards like my peers and any reviews were short/uninspired at best,
it was the publisher's bestselling comic. It reminded me that there's an audience for the stories I want to tell, even if they're not groundbreaking.
And maybe these kinds of stories ARE groundbreaking, in their own way, nowadays. They might not win any conventional awards, but they heal my soul and I can only assume they do the same for others. ❤️
And it took me that experience to confirm that I don't necessarily WANT to write groundbreaking stories!
I want to write warm, soft, comfortable stories about people falling in love and finding solace in each other. Breaking the barriers holding them back from loving someone.
📢Attention GRAPHIC NOVELISTS on pillowfort! 📢
I made a community forum for sharing anything related to pitching and making comics, check it out!

@emmy_zje I followed you on recommendation from a recent out trans femme friend and I don't think I would have figured out I'm trans if it hadn't been for your tweets/retweets from trans mascs. You changed my life, so thank you. ❤️
