Maybe we need to have a good look back and find a few more ”classics” (at least in America), that are more diverse/historically important! With more open-minded authors! It sure is worse to see bigotry alive today and celebrated 😫

@ghosthermione @kpsillustration @MerynLobb Definitely diminishes it. Classics being old is only a partial excuse, in my opinion; some of them aren't as old as we think, and some were real fucked even for their time. I'm convinced H.P. Lovecraft would have been a racist even in 2020 🤔

@kpsillustration @MerynLobb Yeah, I think it diminishes the work, for sure! It's a tough one, but I think if we don't separate art from artist on some level we will have a lot less beautiful things 🤔 at least a majority of the classics, then again, as you say it depends on how much they suck 😭
