@kevxcollins@BackwardsFeet Would you agree in a place with tons of solid orthodox parishes and masses the sspx shouldn't operate without the permission of the bishop.
Like how every religious society is expected to act
@kevxcollins@BackwardsFeet if Rome decided to lawfully abolish the SSPX that would be in Rome's authority to do
at the end of the day, if you recognize the Pope and want to be in union with the church you have to submit to its authority
if the sspx wants to be independent they are in schism
@kevxcollins@BackwardsFeet If the SSPX would stop setting up independent chapels and actually submit to getting faculties from a local bishop they could do actual parish ministry
@LdeJlv@BackwardsFeet so if they recognize the Pope they have no issue submitting to him when he tells them they can't violate canon law right?
"recognizing" doesn't mean anything if they don't follow through on actions
@peregasolinus@BackwardsFeet They have frequently advised people to stay home rather than go to Mass and their argument for an "Emergency" is based on the premise that the means of salvation are not available at parishes
but if they do not question the validity of the Mass then Muller's proposal seems good
@peregasolinus@BackwardsFeet well given how often they accuse the church of teaching error and question the validity of the Mass then such an affirmation seems called for
if you think the church teaches error idk why youd want to be in union with the Pope
@nicholasdetejas@BackwardsFeet In what ways do you think I'm being uncharitable
The point is making a pro sspx video doesn't justify their act of schism
@tumacius@CullumSmith@BackwardsFeet@S_OReilly_USA the difference is that you are a teacher and the Holy Father is an absolute monarch
though even then, wouldn't that actually apply that if you give direction in the class the students have to follow it even if you don't formally add it to the syllabus
@MDLatinMass@GregoryCaridi so the SSPX doesnt operate in places where the traditional sacraments and catechism are available right?
Because there is clearly not an "emergency situation" requiring the SSPX to operate a small chapel within 30 minutes of 3+ TLMs
@imaginarylilguy Aliens called it off and now everyone has to do mandatory psyconic data security trainings while they try to figure out who broadcast the plans on an open channel
@catholicpat Maybe it's being a minnesotan but it's hard to imagine that working just given how I don't think anyone want to be cold called by strangers any more
@Mwarning515@TacticalNukachu And no polite statement does not mean Episcopalian or anglican clergy are "in good standing" as their orders aren't recognized and they can't operate as catholic priests
