Ours has never had an outage from snow built up and we have the original dishy round one. We've actually never had a significant outage at all in the years we've had it. Not sure how the newest ones perform, though.

@broadwaybabyto People never criticize having a landline, either. But,I have both due to living in the boondocks, and the landline costs me way more per month than my cell, like 4 times as much. I payed $20 for my daughter's cell, and her plan is less than $20 every three months.
