A little over 10% of the homeless population is comprised of veterans, which is a lot, but certainly not "most." Your assessment of the VA is pretty accurate, but much of the money for veteran homeless programs is actually from HUD.

@savannahvicario My son and I both would have died without a hospital. I don't think home births are always dangerous, and I don't think hospital births are always ideal, but I do think that there are MANY cases where insisting on a home birth based on comfort is wildly irresponsible.

@emilykmay I'm definitely the right age, but I caught it unintentionally much younger than is really ideal; I was under 2, and far too young to understand that scratching my face would scar me for life. My kid gets EVERY vaccination, even the optional ones.

@TPP_MD My husband (Marine vet) ran to a severe car crash on our street. Barked orders at neighbors who were doing more harm than good trying to move a girl with a mangled leg, and assessed other injuries. I never really understood the kind of chaos he can manage until that day.

@mamabearkari @k8roulette2 I got my period when I was 9. My elementary school bathroom didn't have period products so I had to be allowed to carry a purse (which was not usually allowed). There was no possible way for me to NOT "say period." Stop shaming girls for having bodies in public.

@ask_aubry There's a picture on my husband's phone of me 36 weeks pregnant, sitting on a chair in front of the stove to cook (I insisted on cooking; I hadn't in weeks). The next picture in his camera roll is me, 9 hours later, being induced for severe preeclampsia.
