The reason I'm so attached to the Mario Galaxy Movie is one of my best friends died before he could see the first one.

He was the biggest Super Mario fan I'd ever known by a longshot and was so excited about seeing this. He went into a coma the week it came to theaters and he never woke up.

His parents managed to get a copy of the movie and played it for him in his comatose state before he passed away, I just have hope in my heart that he was able to hear it.

The headstone was custom made by hand laser etching and was designed by his mom. (It wasn't ready until 2 years after he was gone, which I guess is standard for things like this)

His favorite character was Rosalina (I used to pick on him by picking her first in Mario Party 🤣) and Mario Galaxy was his favorite game of all time.

SMT (his nickname) was *obsessed* with the stories of Super Mario, and while I know he would have been hypercritical of the Galaxy movie (that's just who he was) he would have loved every second of watching it.

Anyway, just wanted to share this beautiful work of art.

i'm so disappointed they cut this. it shows how as soon as they found out they went from viewing him as their loser classmate and immediately started dehumanizing him… and it would be so much more impactful now given he is physically becoming less human in brand new day GOD.

Born Again S2 starts off feeling very much like the "solid" episodes of Born Again. Which, to me, lacked all the soul that made the Netflix show so special.
It's doing so much leg work to de-sterilize the world, add back authentic grit and texture to the supporting characters that were purely exposition machines in S1, so certain moments and beats feel "off".
The first few episodes had me scared that this series would continue to feel like damage control for bad boardroom choices. But...
Once you hit the mid point, it completely evolves and morphs into, not just a love letter (blatant apology) to the original series (you guys won't believe me until you see it), but a new beast entirely.
Setting the course for a completely new era that takes the best of old, while establishing a fresh path.
Allowing the world and the characters to not just be stale imitations with too many limitations, but to be, truly, "Born Again". The back half had me smiling ear to ear.
Expect a vague mostly non-spoiler video sometime in April.
