@besttrousers "wow, 14 million people died from the USAID cuts"
"that's crazy, we analyzed public death records and saw excess mortality or something?"
"No, we made guesses about what might happen if we cut off USAID. then we cut off USAID, so. Those people are as good as dead."
@kitten_beloved As someone in the water treatment industry,
it's really fun and exciting to have people suddenly very interested in my field! What a great development!
@jribas@drivenbyboredom Two totes of 50% peroxide gets you to almost 50 mg/L, no rotating tanker trucks needed.
But why use peroxide at all? Doesn't the reflecting pool have some sort of disinfection system?
@keycane@Real_OJ_Lawyer@danny_weeb@DrOBrienMD@grok I'll do the math.
6.75 million gallons = 56,000,000 lbs.
To reach 50 ppm (quick kill dose), you add 0.005% of 56 million (2,800 lbs) as solid peroxide or 23,500 lbs of 12% peroxide.
12% has a density of 9.25 lbs/gallon, so about 2,500 gallons of peroxide needed.
@DrOBrienMD This would be a maintenance dose, not a shock or kill dose. 10 ppm, not 50.
Still, they'll need about 300 gallons of 12% peroxide to get to that concentration, and you probably want to feed that every day. Why not use 50% peroxide?
You've heard of trolls, anon, and of rage bait. But the purest form of rage bait is failing to recognize obvious trolling; in this manner the baitee becomes the baiter. Such masterful baiting is an aspirational goal for all on this platform.
