@Gebo___ Why don’t we talk about the amount of water used to make almond milk? It’s about 400 gallons of fresh water per gallon of actual product.
Most new data centers are closed loop on water. That’s why. Minimal actual consumption on site.
mechanical designer and cooling systems expert here.
Fresh is really analogous to clean. Copper is used for most of the heat transfer. Salt water would destroy anything but titanium which is 10x the price. Dirty water will corrode.
Legacy designs use evaporative cooling as a direct method or for cooling water chillers. Chips and servers were air cooled.
Generation 2 used air cooled chillers with closed loops. Still air cooled chips. No water usage.
Generation 3 designs are liquid cooled chips but still required cooler water which still required chillers. Most generally we were using air cooled chillers with closed loops or water cooled chillers with dry cooling towers. No water usage.
Next generation in design are now using updated NVidia specs which will remove the chillers (likely). Still closed loops. No water usage.
@aaronmurray11 I struggle to understand how the kid was supposed to know mid tackle he was being “held” by the GA player behind him and that made him defenseless . How was he defenseless when he was staring at the guy who was about to hit him?
@JonasLGray@NDFootball ND admins plus the admins from 10 FBS conferences created the system. It’s the system they had a vote in. It may not be right, but it’s the playing field that exists and one they had a vote in.
