That'd be true if TW were just campaigning for their own rights - their own sports, prisons, shelters, healthcare orgs, political representation, etc.
But they're not just campaigning for their own rights. They're campaigning to get *women's* rights, & yes it affects women. 1/13
@Joy_ismyname_ @bipantrashcan @AzraKerrigan @jowendes@EStreachailt@janeclarejones@sally_hines@Tampax Protecting one group of people doesn't remove protection from another. Equality is not a zero sum game. More equality for one group leads to more equality for all groups, not less.
Because you are sick, sir, and you need some serious mental health support. And by that I mean real mental healthcare, from providers who will help you recognize the difference between your delusions and reality, and who will also help you understand the underlying issues that have caused you to have these delusions. Not charlatans who will simply affirm your delusions because doing otherwise might be difficult and uncomfortable for you. Therapy is supposed to be difficult and uncomfortable, because that is how you get better.
A woman in Illinois has been left infertile after a hospital twice refused to treat her ectopic pregnancy. One doctor told her, as her fallopian tube began to rupture, that they would not help her terminate the ectopic pregnancy - a condition that can kill - because “there [was] a 1% chance that there [was] a baby in there.”
Spoiler alert: there was not.
Ectopic pregnancies occur when the embryo attaches inside the fallopian tube, which is not large enough to sustain fetal development. As the embryo gets larger, the fallopian tubes rupture, and can become septic, leaving the victim unable to become pregnant ever again — if she survives. The standard of care is to immediately terminate an ectopic pregnancy in order to protect the life and future fertility of the mother.
In this case, Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital twice chose to prioritize a fetus that had a 0% chance of survival over the life and health and future fertility of a living, breathing woman who was right in front of them and begging for their help.
This is what happens when you allow doctors to prioritize their personal religious beliefs over the life and health of their patients. If you, as a doctor, are so wrapped up in pro-life propaganda that you can’t properly handle an obviously ectopic pregnancy, then you shouldn’t be practicing medicine. This kind of sh!t is the first step on a slippery slope that leads to the kind of situation that exists in Afghanistan, where women have no access to healthcare at all.
If a woman has an ectopic pregnancy, that fetus is not viable. No ectopic pregnancy has ever developed into a full-term infant. It is simply impossible — and doctors know this. Allowing this woman’s fallopian tube to rupture so they could make a point about abortion was a disgusting abuse of medical authority, and every medical professional involved should lose their licenses for good.
I don’t care what your position is on abortion. Surely we can all agree that if an embryo has no chance of survival and is literally _killing its mother or rendering her infertile_, it’s time to terminate that pregnancy — can’t we? Can we really not agree on doing something that basically necessary to save a woman’s life and health?

When I was in high school, they had a female cop come speak to us about crime prevention strategies (I went to a girls school in NYC in the 90s). One of the things she said was that, if you are being followed, to start acting as loud and crazy as possible, first of all because it attracts attention (and attention means witnesses) and second because offenders typically don't want to mess with crazy.
She suggested walking in the middle of the street (not the sidewalk where you are less visible) singing show tunes at the loudest possible volume, even dancing wildly (if you can do that without slowing down your walk). It throws them off and makes it seem like attacking you is probably more trouble than it's worth.
I've never actually tried it. As a born-and-bred NYer, I always, always walk very fast, with a pissed-off look on my face like I'm late for something very important, even when I'm just going out for groceries. I've heard that this also deters them. They look for someone who seems lost, uncertain, and daydreamy. They avoid a fast walker who seems alert and has a purposeful look on their face.
I was attacked on the street once when I was walking the dog (and therefore not walking fast and purposefully), but I used a stun gun to defend myself. That's a whole other story though.
@DeepBlueCrypto It's truly wild how staunch right-wingers like Matt Walsh are proving themselves to have more basic respect for women than the left does.
So how do you explain all of the women who have lost so much -- jobs, whole careers, public platforms, relationships with friends and family members -- for speaking out against gender ideology? Many have been mercilessly stalked, harassed, and even physically assaulted for refusing to shut up about this issue. One elderly lady even had her skull cracked by a rabid trans rights activist while peacefully protesting against this regressive ideology that harms women, children, and homosexuals.
The gender critical movement was started by women and is still powered by women. All of whom would have had much easier lives if we had just sat down and shut up and agreed that transwomen are women. Yet we didn't, and we never will.
Prostitution and surrogacy are not meaningful choices. They are last-ditch survival strategies for women who don't have a better option.
Literally no woman on Planet Earth has ever said to herself, "Well, I could go to medical school, but I think I'd rather let dozens of gross strangers cum in all my orifices on a daily basis. I think it sounds exciting to live under the constant threat of being raped, beaten, kidnapped, and infected with various STDs."
Can you name a single educated, middle-class woman who has chosen "broodmare" as her career? Literally one.
No, you can't, can you? Because educated, middle-class women don't risk their health and their lives to carry other people's babies for them.
In fact, it's the opposite: these women belong to the socioeconomic class that *buys* babies. They buy them from impoverished, desperate women.
Do we allow people to sell their kidneys? Why not? Your body, your choice, right? Except, nobody who has a choice would ever sell their kidney. We would end up with a system where poor people sell their organs to the rich out of desperation. The same principle applies to prostitution and surrogacy.
If I went into a public school and asked to use the bathroom, guess what security would say?
They'd say, "Ma'am, I'm sorry, but we don't allow strangers to just walk in off the street and go into the bathroom with the kids."
Would it then make sense for me to start shrieking, "HOW DARE YOU ACCUSE ME OF BEING A PEDOPHILE?!? I WOULD NEVER HURT A CHILD! WOMEN ALMOST NEVER COMMIT PEDOPHILIA ANYWAY!"
No, it wouldn't make sense. Because they are not accusing me of being a pedophile. They are saying that they don't know what a pedophile looks like. Because pedophiles don't wear signs on their foreheads. So, for the safety of the children, no strange adults are allowed.
That is how safeguarding works. And I suspect that you understand this, because it's real simple. You're pretending not to understand.
Nobody ever said that all males are sex offenders, regardless of how they identify. But sex offenders don't wear signs on their foreheads. There is no way to identify a sex offender just by looking. That is why all males are excluded from women's spaces.
A male cannot identify himself as safe to women, the same way I cannot rock up to a school, identify myself as safe to children, and demand to use the bathroom with the kids.
This is common sense, and I promise you, people would take you more seriously if you didn't pretend not to understand it.

Victimhood is a valuable currency in these circles. As such, the definition of victimhood keeps expanding to accommodate those who are not victims by any reasonable standard, because otherwise such people would have no share in this currency.
Essentially it's socialism, but with grievances instead of money and resources. Cue Oprah meme: "YOU get to be a victim, and YOU get to be a victim, and YOU get to be a victim..."
@haynes_wiley The problem is, you were lied to and either you believed it or you went along with it. Neither demonstrates good judgment. It was such an enormous egregious lie that your credibility as a political group is, possibly forever, tainted. We kept trying to tell you. 🤷♂️
Then on behalf of the gender critical community, I would like to say I'm sorry that the crazies in the trans community are making your life harder by demanding privileges like self-ID. But we can't just let any male unilaterally decide for himself he's entitled to use women's single-sex spaces. That's just common sense. And since the crazies refuse to compromise, now things are going real hard in the other direction.
@Empiricist871@Rob_ThaBuilder You *can* blame him though, because he chose that echo chamber for himself. People don't naturally live in echo chambers. It's something you have to carefully curate and rigorously enforce.
"A few were as young as 10, though nearly all were age 16 or 17. Most were girls wed to adult men an average of four years older"
Thanks for confirming that this almost never happens in the US, and that most "child brides" are actually 16 and 17-year-olds getting married to young men just a few years older than them. In other words, normal relationships, where sexual activity would still be legal in most states regardless of marital status. Their husbands are not marrying them to rape them.
You are reaching so hard to make this false equivalence, I'm surprised you haven't dislocated your own shoulder.
Today in Berlin, on International Women’s Rights Day, we protested outside a surrogacy fair.
I was born through surrogacy.
I don’t know how much I was worth.
But inside this fair, you can buy:
👉 a white baby from Ghana for around €45,000
👉 an American baby for up to €150,000
This is not “family building.”
This is a global billion dollar baby market.
Women are not reproductive vessels for the rich.
Children are not products.
Thanks to @NeFra_eV and @initiative_lfs for this!
