@beau_beashore @PeachProof23 If you're serious about leveling , spread out the soil/compost mix in early September. Use a leveling rake if you can get one. Throw some good seed out along with starter fertilizer. Scott's with mesotrione keeps the weeds down. Water.

@beau_beashore @PeachProof23 Not this. Level with a mix of compost and topsoil. It's unlikely to be weed free but that can be tackled. In KC, topdressing with sand will turn that clay into something that resembles concrete in summer. We're not running wetting agents aeration multi times per year here

@PeachProof23 This is a terrible idea in heavy clay soil areas unless you have the skills, time, and equipment to manage the turf like a golf course. Leveling is great. With sand? Not for most.
