@EPBResearch@BobEUnlimited@Bardamu_31 Leamer used the phrase to show the importance of housing as a leading indicator. He seemed to be more interested in correlation than causation, but where he did mention mechanisms, he looked to consumption rather than employment.
@latha_venkatesh Good point. It reminds me of the spring 2008 rally after the intervention for Bear Stearns or summer 2008 rally after the backstop of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.
@countdraghula@josephwang Thanks, Count. I think I am understanding more now. I do wonder: is it possible that negative equity at the Fed is part of the design of “ample reserves” regime? In the future, the govt will have two debt service channels: treasury payments and IOER/RRP
@BobEUnlimited When the firefighter is the arsonist, he looks like a hero. He’s the first one on the scene and has a sixth sense to find the origin of the blaze.
@exposurerisk From the mid-July 2008 bottom, the bounce happened after the Treasury and Fed announced a plan to bail out Freddie and Fannie. Not sure if we can expect any good news this year.
@siddiqui71 Interesting chart. I wonder what happened in the 80’s to flip the relationship. Normally higher rates means fewer loans but the 80’s had a positive correlation.
@aaronwall @cal_moonshot @LynAldenContact I can imagine a web3 DAO with more transparent executive compensation tied to meaningful targets. Or a DEX algorithmically prohibited from front running trades. We will have more tools to create a fair market.
Or web3 could abandon its ideals as Google did.
@aaronwall @cal_moonshot @LynAldenContact True, Google turned to the dark side and is now worse than MSFT ever was.
I imagine users will reject all of these evil companies when alternatives are available - and hopefully web3 governance will prevent the new organizations from turning evil.
@icpmaximalist@dfinity You missed the point most relevant to $ICP:
What is the vesting schedule for insiders at launch?
ICP was unique with no vesting cliff to prevent insider dumping.
@ICPSquad Nah. Other modern projects recognize the importance of tokenomics and incentives for holders. As possibly the biggest rug pull of all time, $ICP clearly didn’t care about that.
