A really tough break for @charles_leclerc.
During the formation lap, Charles experienced an issue with one of our car systems which led to a loss of hydraulics supply, meaning he had no power steering and no gearbox command.
Unfortunately, this meant there wasn't anything he could have done to control the car and avoid spinning into the wall
After a long three weeks, we'll recharge and set our sights on a strong finish to the 2023 season

🚨| Very sad and tragic news coming from Madras International Circuit.
13-year-old Shreyas Hareesh has tragically passed away after a crash while racing at the Madras International Circuit.
The youngster was competing in Round 3 of the Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championship (INMRC). The remainder of the round has been cancelled in wake of the incident.
After competing in several local races, Hareesh earned his big break when his made his INMRC debut in 2021. The age limit was reduced from 13 years to 11 years (Hareesh’ age at the time) just so he could participate and he became the youngest -ever Indian to compete and win races in the championship.
Last year, he won the inaugural edition of the FIM MiniGP World Series India, which is a crucial platform for young riders looking to make it to MotoGP or international motorcycle racing in general. He went on to represent India at the world finals.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and everyone in the Indian motorsports family.
RIP 🕊️
People disliked the halo when it was first introduced. "It made the cars ugly". But it has saved multiple lives and now no one's complaining. The same goes for changing a track layout. Nostalgia and entertainment cannot be put ahead of safety. Something needs to be done about Spa
Getting behind the wheel and racing today was not easy. I can’t really express how numb I feel, but I want to give my deepest condolences to Dilano’s family, team, and friends. My deep thoughts are also with the other drivers involved. Stay strong, you have all my support.
This is F1 Spa 21' and FRECA Spa 23'
One was deemed unsafe, and the other let the race continue.
The fact that FRECA let them drive around in such conditions is incredibly questionable, it screams pure negligence letting the drivers race in these conditions.
they had young kids racing in these conditions while delaying a formula 1 race for hours, with drivers who have much more experience with these conditions. it makes absolutely no sense.
the race directors failed to guarantee dilano's (and all the other drivers') safety.
when will we realise that Spa is already dangerous for F1 let alone the Feeder Series? how many more lives will Eau Rouge have to take for us to prioritise the lives of the drivers instead of mere entertainment? an eighteen-year-old should not face death while doing what he loves
