I collapsed a 2-4 week design workflow into minutes. Then I zoomed out and realized the same principle applies to every discipline. That's the Digital Operating System. Read Full Details here:

@DannPetty@Tesla If you get a used Y, go for β22 or later: updated hardware and battery. I found a β22 Y for $25k minus $4k EV tax credit! New 3s have upgraded styling, rear screen, etc. ($7,500 tax credit) if you donβt want to wait for Y updates. Youβll love it either way.
@JedBridges@figma Agreed. I also tried experimenting with the UI when variables came out. It feels like that Design / Figjam / Prototype deserves more prominence.

Hey @figma and UX friends. I redesigned the #Figma UI for variables and dev mode. I think there is opportunity for these new features to feel more harmonious and easier to use. What do ya'll think?

I figured out the missing link between #figma variables and color styles. You can remap your original color styles to primitive variables. This means you can assign variable roles to your original design system color styles in the future... or leave them as is.
Hey @figma you should rethink the UI for variables so that it doesn't look like a "bolt-on" feature. It's very difficult to manage in a little modal. Maybe take a page out of Glide's book. Just an idea π
@pwnies@figma Why can't you link color variables to color styles in a design system? I don't understand why/how you would want to maintain an entire library of colors in the variables panel that's not also linked to color styles. Am I missing something?
