Today we're also opening the weights for Muse Glimmer, a great 30B parameter dense model that can run locally. Soon we'll also release the weights for Muse Spark 1.2, our latest foundation model. Meta is a strong supporter of open source and I'm proud of these releases. Congrats to @alexandr_wang and the MSL team for all your great work on these models.

As a student, I usually enjoyed school, but only because I was good at “playing the game” of school.
As an adult, I’m struck by how much more fun it is to learn.
For a curious person, right now is the best time ever to be alive. You can learn whatever you want. It’s incredible.

1/ If you can change your focus, you can change your future.
Don’t spend a minute worrying about something that you can’t control. If something can’t be changed by you taking direct action, put it out of your mind. Today’s society is overrun with useless distractions

Key ideas for successful investing. @spranesh writes about how a know-nothing investor can outsmart the majority of active investors, how a world’s worst market timer generated 9% returns by staying the course, what happens if everyone chooses to index. https://t.co/oxUHcyQJG6
“These index funds have come along + they’ve basically beaten everybody. Not only that, the amount by which they beat everybody is roughly the cost of running operation. So we’ve got a whole profession that is being paid for accomplishing practically nothing.”

1/ Vanguard founder and investing legend John Bogle passes away:
https://t.co/OTcwDQ6nub
What a selfless legend! This man has saved more money for the individual than possibly anyone else in the world.
3/ Mutual fund assets are well over $10T today (Vanguard is $5T alone). 3 decades ago, fees were 1%+ and had 12b-1 charges. Today, it's less than 0.1% on average. Imagine saving 0.9% per year over 30+.
The savings is in the trillions!
First tweet in 8 years!
Fitting for one my favorite scout quotes which is also a great signal for interactions:
