Supporting women is the first step - #enablingwomen is the next. Actions to make ecosystems welcoming and #accessible to female entrepreneurs are necessary for stimulating real change, overcoming obstacles, and challenging the status quo.
Very excited to support my friend, @CatalystasC cofounder, and fellow female entrepreneur @BeatriceManeshi as she speaks with an @OrangeCorners panel this afternoon on the importance of entrepreneurship led by women in economic development!
On the role of men in enabling female entrepreneurship: allyship is great, but it’s not enough - take an active role in supporting, hiring, listening to, and engaging with women as equals and valuable perspectives.
On cultural barriers: Using shame as a value marker attached to women’s bodies creates immediate obstacles based on the assumed superiority of men - preventing access to education, finance, and decision making power for women.
Make sure to tune in next week for @OrangeCorners online sesion on ‘#Female#Entrepreneurship: the Key to Global Economic Development'!
Catalystas founder Beatrice Maneshi is excited to join the discussion as one of the panelists! 🙌
