Is it just the communit? According to a report by Lauren Witzke, the Bible Museum in Washington, DC was required by the State of Israel to remove the term "BC" (Before Christ) from its exhibit labels for the Dead Sea Scrolls on loan.  Instead of "BC," the museum is mandated to use "BCE" (Before Common Era) to refer to the years in the exhibit.
