Inflation is crushing the middle class, Americans are working longer hours, often at multiple jobs, for 1/3rd of their paycheck to go directly to taxes.

So last week @myrick29 sent money for me to take my mom out to dinner on him and @sstrsun. A few days later i get a call from someone asking how much i would charge to build a wheel chair ramp.
My response: “I don’t know, we’ve never built one so i don’t know what it takes”.
As it turns out a woman who i don’t know (Sondra), is trying to take her elderly mom in but needs a ramp to get her in the house and she was tight on money.
My next response: “tell me how high the porch is and i will get something built”
@D_England51 and i built the ramp and went to Sondra’s house today to see if it fit and installed it for her. She asked if she owed us anything.
I told her the story about what Tim did for my mom and me last week and how much it meant to us. I told her how Tims wife just finished up chemo but they wanted to give to someone else to make their day better. I told her about my mom’s dementia. I told her to get her mom home and spend as much time as she could with her.
As far as payment i said this. “I want you to do something nice for a total stranger sometime and tell them this story”. I told her Daltyn and i would be back later this week to build her some railings for the ramp. We both stood there and hugged each other with tears in our eyes.
Here’s the point: the world is so fucked up right now and we can all use some smiles and friendliness. Sure there’s gonna be some motherfuckers out there that wouldn’t do a good deed no matter what, just straight up miserable people. But there are alot that just need a nudge and a good example to go off of. Be the nudge someone needs. Show a stranger there is good in the world. Yeah it could backfire, but what if it works 😳
