Legendary Gordon E. Moore passed away. Known as the founder @intel, the iconic company which defined computers, semiconductors, memory and host of other inventions. He was at the Shockley Semiconductor Laboratory and Fairchild Semiconductor, progenitors of the Silicon Valley.

When I joined Intel fresh out of School, I saw him regularly in the Intel's headquarters in Santa Clara, CA, (Mission College Blvd., near Highway 101 and San Thomas Expressway). My colleague used to pointed out with a chuckle, that he owns 5% of Intel.
