“I've seen so many Sentry videos on here of Teslas being vandalized or otherwise damaged where the poster says "police wouldn't do anything" or "didn't get the license plate" or simply "they got away."

Well, this time was different and so i just had to post.

The video tells most of the tale, and i've removed her face and plate because the case is still pending.

Basically she was sitting at the side of the road apparently waiting to BACK UP AGAINST TRAFFIC and park in the spot where the person was leaving. From my vantage point, she was simply waiting to turn right at the light or possibly double-parked picking up food or a person (happens a lot in that area). We were looking for a spot, one suddenly came available, so i took it.

As i got out of the car, she backs up and yells something about me taking her spot and so i gently told her that i thought she was waiting to turn right and there's no way i could have known she was waiting for an angled parking spot that she had already passed by. She started shouting something about me being an asshole so i disengaged and walked to dinner.

My wife and I joked about how there would be something when we got back to the car, but honestly didn't think anything would happen. i felt pretty good once we got back to the car because i didn't see anything. Then my wife's face goes SHOCKED as she sees the scratch all along the passenger side (from tail light to front passenger panel just above the wheel well).

I immediately pop into the car and check the Sentry. As soon as i see her clear as day on camera, i say to my wife "let's go for a walk" in the direction she went after doing the deed. In less than a block my wife goes "there she is" - sitting outside at a restaurant eating with her family. i confront her in front of her family and she denies it. i tell her i have video and she says "let's see it," thinking she's calling my bluff. So i go back to the car to record the video off the screen with my phone, while my wife calls police.

As i'm headed back to the restaurant, the lady meets me and says "let's talk here, not in front of my family." She gives me her ID and her insurance information and i tell her the police are on their way.

I come to find out later that she lied to the cop until he showed her the video and said "do you want to change your story?"

When the question came, "do you want to press charges?" The answer was an emphatic "yes" once i knew she had lied to both me and the police about having done anything wrong.

She was arrested right then and there for felony vandalism, and later the estimate on the damage was over $8k. Insurance will cover it, but i'll have to submit for restitution to get my deductible back at the end of the criminal trial (or if she pleads). it sucks that i'm without the car while it's being fixed, but it felt SOOOO good to catch her and make her pay.

i just had to share.”

BREAKING: @Tesla has revealed that once Cybertruck production is ramped up that Giga Texas will have over 60,000 employees. They have 20,000 employees on site currently, according to a public presentation by Jason Shawhan, Tesla's director of manufacturing at Giga Texas.

At the end of 2022 Tesla had 12,300 employees at Giga Texas. Coming into 2023, Shawhan said Tesla didn't have enough parking for workers. To fix the issue, the company is now building a parking garage near the factory.

Tesla has become one of the largest employers in Central Texas, ranking only behind grocery chain H-E-B LP, which earlier this year employed 22,955 people in the metro, according to ABJ list research.
