The Mughal faujdar Wazir Khan had ordered the two young children be bricked alive as they refused to accept Islam. When they died, their grandmother died of shock

The Mughals did not want to allow the cremation to humiliate the martyrs. They stipulated that the buyer can take only as much space as he could cover with give gold coins for the land. All the Sikh chiefs just stood helplessly

That's when Todar Mal produced the coins and bought the piece of land, and cremated the three bodies.

This is biggest irony of life, India is only country where its true heritage is hidden from next generation and falsehood Is taught.

California's Central Valley produces 80% of the world's almonds. Each almond requires 3.2 gallons of actual irrigation water to grow. Not rainfall. Actual tap water pumped from aquifers.

One gallon of almond milk requires 162 gallons of irrigation water. Compare that to dairy milk at 8 gallons of tap water per gallon, with the rest being rainfall that falls on pasture anyway.

But here's where it gets properly grim. Almonds bloom for exactly three weeks in February. During those three weeks, California needs every pollinating bee in North America transported to the Central Valley or the crop fails entirely.

Commercial beekeepers truck in 31 billion honeybees. That's two-thirds of America's entire managed bee population, all concentrated in one valley for three weeks. The bees are packed into trucks, driven across the country, dumped into almond groves drenched in pesticides, worked to exhaustion, then packed up and shipped to the next crop.

The mortality rate is catastrophic. Beekeepers report losing 30 to 50% of their hives annually. That's billions of bees dead. Not from natural causes. From being used as disposable pollination machines for your almond milk.

The pesticides don't help. Almond groves are sprayed with neonicotinoids which scramble bee navigation systems, fungicides which weaken their immune systems, and herbicides which eliminate the wildflowers they'd normally forage on between almond blooms.

Meanwhile the aquifer depletion is permanent. The Central Valley has sunk 28 feet in some areas from groundwater extraction. That water took 10,000 years to accumulate. It's being drained in decades for almond milk.

Your vegan latte killed more bees and used more water than a year's worth of dairy milk. But it's got "plant-based" on the label so you're definitely saving the planet.

मी स्वतः मराठा आहे पण मला मनापासून वाटते की मराठा आरक्षणाच्या नावाखाली राजकीय पक्षांनी मराठ्यांचा वापर करू नये आणि त्यांची दिशाभूल बिलकुल करू नये यासाठी आपण सगळ्यांनी मिळून थोडासा अभ्यास करणे गरजेचे आहे.

हा थ्रेड फक्त @Dev_Fadnavis यांच्या प्रामाणिक प्रयत्नांचा नाही. मराठा आरक्षणाची मागणी आजची नाही; १९९० पासून सुरू आहे. त्या काळात महाराष्ट्रात विलासराव देशमुख (१९९९–२००८), अशोक चव्हाण (२००८–२०१०), पृथ्वीराज चव्हाण (२०१०–२०१४) हे कॉंग्रेस मुख्यमंत्री होते आणि शरद पवार यांच्या एनसीपीने सतत सत्ता भोगली; केंद्रात UPA कॉंग्रेस सरकार होती. तरीही या दशकानुदशकांमध्ये त्यांनी फक्त आश्वासनं दिली, कोर्टात टिकणारी काहीही कृती केली नाही. २०१४ मध्ये निवडणुकीच्या आधी घाईघाईत राजकीय फायद्यासाठी १६% आरक्षण जाहीर केले, पण बॉम्बे HC ने लगेच थांबवले.

खऱ्या अर्थाने बदल घडला तो जेव्हा २०१४ मध्ये देवेंद्र फडणवीस मुख्यमंत्री झाले. त्यांचा लढा प्रामाणिक आणि कायदेशीर होता आणि अनेक प्रयत्नानंतर २०१८ मध्ये SEBC कायदा पास करून त्यांनी मराठा आरक्षण दिले; HC ने १२–१३% मान्य ही केले, परंतु २०२१ मध्ये सर्वोच्च न्यायालयाने ५०% एकूण आरक्षण मर्यादा उल्लंघनामुळे ते रद्द केले. फडणवीस यांनी २०२४ मध्ये १०% आरक्षणासाठी नवीन कायदा मांडला, ज्यात महाराष्ट्र राज्य मागासवर्ग आयोगाच्या अहवालावर आधारित १.३५ कोटी कुटुंबांचा सविस्तर सर्वे समाविष्ट होता. हा डेटा संपूर्ण राज्यभर प्रत्येक घरगुती माहिती गोळा करून, वर्गीकरण करून, सत्यापन करून कोर्टात सादर केला गेला, जे अत्यंत अवघड आणि वेळखाऊ काम होते; अनेक महिन्यांचा कठोर अभ्यास आणि प्रशासनिक समन्वय याशिवाय अशा प्रमाणात माहिती गोळा करणे शक्यच नव्हते तरीपण त्यांनी हे घडवून आणले केंद्र सरकार चा पाठिंबा, १.३५ कोटी कुटुंबांचा डेटा आणि अभ्यासपूर्ण कोर्ट लढा घेऊन फडणवीस सरकारने २०२४ मध्ये नवीन १०% आरक्षण कायदा पास केला, या कायद्याला बॉम्बे उच्च न्यायालयाने २०२५ मध्ये तात्पुरती मान्यता ही दिली, परंतु अंतिम निर्णय अद्याप बाकी आहे शिवाय या प्रकरणावर सुप्रीम कोर्टाची सुनावणी लवकरच अपेक्षित आहे.

सर्वांना हे समजणं अत्यंत महत्त्वाचे आहे की फक्त प्रयत्न दाखवणे पुरेसे नाही; मराठा आरक्षण हे कोर्ट आणि संपूर्ण SEBC/आरक्षण कायद्यांच्या चौकटीत आलेले आहे, त्यामुळे मुख्यमंत्री केवळ सही करून उद्या आरक्षण लागू करु शकत नाहीत, हे सर्वांना ठाऊक आहे.

तरीही विरोधक, विशेषतः शरद पवार आणि त्यांचे इतर राजकीय चट्टेबट्टे काँग्रेस आणि महाविकास आघाडी खोट्या प्रचाराने आणि राजकीय नाटक करून फडणवीस यांना बदनाम करण्याचा प्रयत्न करत आहेत. मनोज जरांगे यांच्या मागे काय काय कट रचले जात आहे हे सगळ्यांना हळूहळू दिसतीलच फडणवीस यांची जात काढून ते मुद्दाम मराठा समाजाला विरोध करत आहे असे चित्र तयार करताना आपण बघत आहोत या सर्व गोष्टींमध्ये आपली दिशाभूल करण्याचे काम सुरूच आहे

एक मराठा आणि एक सजग नागरिक म्हणून आपण या सर्व गोष्टींचा अभ्यास करून त्या दृष्टीने आपले मत बनवणे खूप गरजेचे आहे नाहीतर हे राजकीय लांडगे आपल्याला विकून खातील
