@andyhowellsport Not enough. CE is largely a funding mechanism not a cost plus little worthwhile 'education' in coach 'education' due to myriad reasons. Its incumbent on NGB's to be field leading here, WRU should invest more heavily...reap what you sow
From https://t.co/97TOKUQ0XJ to this "a more streamlined use of data" in 12 months. Sounds like too much data confused the players and coaches trying to create too much certainty. Be interested to hear some reflexive thoughts from the 'superbrains' in the RFU review.
We over-coach.
We over-analyze.
We over-schedule.
We over-think.
We over-explain.
Our thirst for certainty and control drives us to over-index on so many elements of performance that we end up squeezing the humanity out of what we do.
How do we change this dynamic?
Thanks ex-student @Craig_Lilley1 speaking about his @bathrugbyacad vision, the long term development of players, positive learning environments/cultures, thinking tools for effective coaching practice. Great session for students to make links between practice and theory/research.
Anyone else wonder how mechanistic life can be made for athletes? Recent data from a DoR (EP) “the GPS guy, he’ll say, ‘he can only run another three hundred metres’, mmm...im probably with Wittgenstein on this one, “Physiological life is of course not ‘life’…Life is the world”

Great insights into excellent learning environments, developing critical players through collaboration, holistic coaching strategies, and individual triggers with GB EDP coach @jody_paul10 Really thought provoking for our Applied Coaching Students 👍
@markwatkins2107@simonrug Yes but that £££ in wages. The WRU can pay a fraction of that for access. Allowing this pathway to work for them not rip it up but retain its enormous benefits whilst Eng clubs pick at the tab and expose players to a higher level across the board. Not eggs in 1 basket.

@simonrug@Aled_Lewis9@PeterJones37@scottbaldwin2 1) How English clubs respond to Welsh players being colonised by 60 cap rule remains to be seen 2) Huge development pathway for Wales players e.g. school, AASE, Uni's, academies, needs consideration if talented young welsh players denied this opp 3) Higher top end product
@pitthams@WalesRugby Maybe, but too simplistic for believers to just state money. ExChiefs not biggest budget in Eur, not even Eng but success. If 20M plus yearly budget and equivalent (inflation) since 2003 produces the standard of rugby of late in Wales there are more rooted issues.
