I’m 40 now. As time passes, I realize it is less and less likely that I will ever experience motherhood, that I will meet ‘my person’ and marry. I know that. I can’t help but feel a glimmer of hope, though, even when my stomach is on the floor and all feels lost. I both have so much to offer and nothing to give. I feel like it’s time I gave up that hope and became realistic. I don’t seek pity or reassurance. I’m just being honest. It seems highly unlikely. How does one give up their only true dream and find something else? It’s got to be something worthy. Something to shift the world forward. A way to help humanity. I need to give. I need to move on from this unrealistic empty hope that all of my solo years were leading to something with someone great, and just find some other reason for living. New beginnings.
On this day in 1981, the New York Times wrote a story with a now-infamous headline that declared "RARE CANCER IN 41 HOMOSEXUALS," that many people cite as the beginning of the AIDS crisis in the United States. Though that's how history remembers it, that is of course, inaccurate.
So much surveillance to track migrants on the move. And yet, none of this surveillance tech led to a decision to SAVE lives as hundreds died right in front of cameras and tracking sensors. https://t.co/vzjY4jJLka
@MIAuniverse You have to be a special kind of disconnected to think limiting the rampant progression of illness through a community is somehow a bad thing just because someone told you to do it. Are you so morally bankrupt you couldn’t draw the same conclusion independently?
Apple exec: "The golden ticket for every major streamer is to be able to produce a show that looks like it was produced in the U.S. But that was shot overseas with non-union crews and only a handful of American actors."
I don’t wear 🌈 items to tell you who’s in my bed. I wear 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️ so the family across the street knows they are safe. So the couple in the restaurant know they aren’t alone. So the boy who sees me notice him looking at dresses knows I won’t judge. I wear pride bc you make them hide
