@douwuata i need to have rewards managed by another person and even then sometimes it takes the threat of something i was looking forward to (certain events or what have you) being taken away for me to be able to get things done
yeah that’s called gender dysphoria and usually trans men relish in being told they’re looking masculine
maybe transitioning isn’t the right call for you if you’re uncomfortable with having your gender “affirmed”
i’ve never actually heard apt. so every time i listen to the bongo cat version my brain just goes DONT YOU KNOW THAT WE WERE FREED FROM SLAVERY DONT YOU FEEL HOW MUCH IT MEANS RIGHT NOW
@BriannaWu let kids go by whatever name they want - it’s a big part of figuring out who you are, and that’s a huge part of childhood. but don’t let them legally change anything at least until they can understand the process of how you do it. and this goes for every kid regardless of gender.
@coaxialcreature@babybeginner does stopping the body’s use of androgens mean something different in a trans man’s body vs a trans woman’s? or do the long-term effects of living in a testosterone-dominated body for years only matter when it’s endogenous (but still molecularly and biologically the exact same)?
@babybeginner taking medication to treat a diagnosed condition (gender dysphoria) and playing sports with people who have similar strengths and abilities is no more cheating than it is to take adderall the morning of a standardized test when you have adhd.
@intrepidreader@babybeginner look at toddler clothing - all the girls’ clothes are tiny (and skimpy, for lack of a better term, for a BABY), but the boys’ clothes are generally bigger and more appropriate for a toddler, even though the growth chart for males and females at that age is the same.
@intrepidreader@babybeginner i don’t agree that minors should have access to gac, but before puberty there is little to no difference between the growth of males vs females. the belief that females are always smaller and daintier than their male peers is a symptom of systemic misogyny.
@exili_al@Crescentcubed@psychicautomata lyme disease is a big one i think of bc no one throws a fit about the political ramifications of associating a disease with connecticut! it was only a problem with covid bc people don’t like trump. i don’t either, but “wuhan virus” follows naming rules we’ve used for a while now.
@2deep1nsh1t@popup_tddy a “buzz” is still a high, it’s just on the low end of the spectrum irt intensity. just like if you get “buzzed” off a couple beers but get breathalyzed you’re still getting a dui.
