@Jonathan_Blow Win 11 was the last straw. My new workstation is Linux (Pop!_OS). I’m hoping rad debugger will run well on Linux. Other than a good debugger so far I don’t miss windows. I keep my old windows workstation only for testing.
@V1TALISED I have no plan for that, the ancient forum sw was a nightmare to maintain. I have the data, would be quite a task to covert it to some other platform (I did it once from phpBB to YAF). Any suggestion?
@k_sugimoto I’m not sure what’s the problem with PayPal. I moved to Italy, maybe they don’t support donation to private individuals. Thank you anyway. The website was just a screwup of the that cleared the dns record.
@lefticus Yes, in squirrel’s interpreter they cost about 30% in performance. I never shipped a project with exceptions on in 25 years as a c++ programmer. That also eliminates the standard library for most of the projects.
@Atrix256 I written a utility that generates a C file that declares a global char[] filled with the file content. And is part of a pre process step of my build.
@lowerthirdgames @rfleury My last engine for an mmo rpg is more than half a million lines but well organized in libraries with minimal cross module linking. Almost no templates. It compiles in less than a minute on a 3700x. Tools are in c#. For game code we use scripting.
@timClicks We did in our last project for data mining and some networking infrastructure. I plan for more things the new one too. We also use c++, c# and squirrel. No language is good for everything.
