Earlier today, Alberta’s government announced that as teachers and students return to the classroom this week we will be taking immediate action to reduce class sizes and address classroom complexity.

We will be appointing a Class Size and Complexity Task Force, who will begin work in three important areas.

1️⃣ Collecting and publicly releasing class size and complexity data, which will help inform which classrooms are most in need of supports and resources.

2️⃣ Implement solutions from the final report of the Aggression and Complexity in Schools Action Team, which will be released soon.

3️⃣ Begin working with school boards, teachers, educational assistants to review and replace the 2004 Standards for Special Education.

Balwin Staff started the year off by learning/playing Pickleball at The Center of Volleyball and Pickleball.

A few notes:
1) you can always learn something new!
2) Pickleball is for all ages
3) That center is run by generations of teachers
4) It feels good to be back together
