After more than a century in London, over 2,000 sacred Jain manuscripts — believed to be the largest Jain manuscript collection outside South Asia — are finally being returned.

In a landmark step for global cultural restitution, the Wellcome Collection has signed a formal MoU with @JainologyOrg and the University of Birmingham to preserve, study and reconnect this priceless legacy with Jain communities worldwide.

The collection, dating from the 15th–19th centuries, includes:
• Rare illustrated Kalpasutra manuscripts
• Ancient works on Jain philosophy, ethics, literature and culture
• Early Hindi medical texts, including the 1592 Vaidyamanotsav

The manuscripts will now be housed at the Dharmanath Network in Jain Studies at the University of Birmingham, where they will be preserved, researched, translated and made accessible to scholars and Jain communities across the globe.

Dr. @mehool of the Institute of Jainology called this decision “pioneering” — a model for faith communities everywhere. He also reflected that many manuscripts may not have survived the upheaval of Partition, making their preservation and return even more meaningful.

This is more than the return of ancient texts.
It is the return of memory.
The return of knowledge.
The return of identity.
The return of a living civilizational legacy.

In webcam mode, the Action 2 does not capture audio through its built-in microphone. Audio is captured through your computer. You can also connect a microphone to your computer for audio input.

@DJISupport @DJISupport My DJI Action 2 has no audio for use as Webcam. Audio is available for native device only recording. Let if know if its a device issue and if it should capture audio on my PC too.

@DJISupport Hi, just wanted to know if audio is supported when using DJI Action 2 in webcam mode. Its a great feature which I just discovered. Mine detects video with USB UVC mode but no audio in webcam mode. I have the main unit + power unit.

●You cannot wear Jain identity on your sleeve and promote the exact opposite of Ahimsa on camera. That’s not personal choice anymore, that’s public contradiction.
●Don’t dilute a philosophy built on non-violence. No one is policing personal choices. But publicly celebrating something that stands in direct opposition to the core belief of Jain philosophy and doing so without any sensitivity, reflects a serious lack of awareness. it’s the entire community that gets mocked, and misunderstood. We follow Ahimsa with sincerity. Don’t make it harder for others to respect it.
