Next month, you’ll read Don't Make Me Think, start saying “cognitive load” in casual conversation, and wireframe every app idea in grayscale.

By fall, you’ll build a design system from scratch, name it something like “Quartz,” and enforce uppercase nav labels like it’s federal law.

Next year, you’ll be in a Slack fight over whether shadows are expressive or lazy, while quietly editing 42 variants of the same icon.

You’ll use words like “semantic affordance” to describe a modal that closes when you click outside of it.

You haven’t even begun to suffer yet. You’ll be knee-deep in Jira tickets, debating whether a tooltip is a feature or a cry for help.

You haven’t spent 3 hours naming a color “Coconut Mist” only to have the engineer call it #a0a0a0 and move on.

You think this is about pixels.

It’s not.

It’s about shaping intention into form—so clearly and usefully that the function reveals itself, no matter the stack, tool, or screen.
