Amazing show of student power today at Sydney University- we took to the streets to demand universities do not cut staff and courses, and that the government retracts their higher education bill which increases uni fees and cuts failing students off of government support

We express solidarity to all attendees, particularly those still detained and dealing with fines. The SRC will contribute to bails and fines however we can. We won’t be deterred by the police, and we intend to continue protesting regardless of how violent and brutal they are.

The Students’ Representative Council is shocked and incredibly saddened to hear that recent Honi Soit editor, Sam Langford (2016), died on the weekend. The SRC stands with Sam’s friends and family at this awful time.
