@DrBlackDeer When I worked in admin there were endless conversations where senior scholars griped about OTHER departments. Half that energy devoted to structural issues in our own department would have solved a lot, ya know?
@racheleklein I mean I can say as someone with CPTSD my therapists in the past have often been extremely reluctant to suggest I was accountable in my personal relationships even a tiny bit or help me actually set boundaries and assert myself.
Because they saw me as perma victims.
@theoceanblooms Plenty of wonderful people are socially awkward af and plenty of terrible people are absolutely gorgeous and that’s how they get away with it.
@AutisticCoach_ I think there’s nuance where I have white privilege walking around in the world because I am perceived as white, and so do most Ashkenazi Jews, but also antisemitic hatred towards Jewish people exists.

@louwrentius@emrazz Talking is not “stealing attention” erm it is “communication” and that is how it works. My guess it that all the “attention” you have put on this particular topic has not been particularly helpful. Can’t imagine why!
@emrazz I’m also thinking about the former male housemate who couldn’t handle his emotions when I slept with someone else but refused to talk about it directly.
Refusing to have a direct conversation while having a bitchfit in the corner is not good boundaries either lol
