First days of work are always a mental olympics of “be early” but not “too early” so I settle in 5 minutes before the scheduled time. And spend too much energy overall thinking about it.
You're a DePaul student in September 2018. You get off the Red Line at Fullerton and stop at Dunkin to get a coffee. You get a Streetwise on the corner of Fullerton and Sheffield to read in Arts & Letters before class. The leaves are starting to fall. You're tired, but good.
@thatsriss I think part of it is being able to step outside your lived experience to see what it might look for someone with a different lived experience. That perspective is hard for lots of people.
