Today, during the talks with PM Bart De Wever, we agreed to deepen cooperation across trade, defence, clean energy, critical minerals, semiconductors, research and talent mobility.

We have also established an Investment Fast-Track Mechanism for Belgian companies and will work towards doubling bilateral trade over the next five years.

With the India-EU FTA opening new possibilities, the India-Belgium partnership is well placed to deliver greater prosperity and opportunity for the people of our nations.

Attended the Annual State-Level Stakeholders Consultation Meet on “Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015 – A Decade of Implementation and the Way Forward, 2026” organised by the Juvenile Justice Committee of the Telangana High Court and the Judicial Academy. The consultation brought together all departments associated with child welfare and protection.

Hon’ble Chief Justice - Telangana Highcourt, Justice Sri Aparesh Kumar Singh, called for stronger coordination among all stakeholders, empathy towards every child in need of care and protection, prevention of trafficking, reformative shelter homes.

I spoke on strengthening child-friendly policing through Special Juvenile Police Units and Child Welfare Police Officers, the new social and technological challenges affecting children’s safety, how the rising involvement of juveniles in crime reflects deeper societal shifts etc., Also informed the attendees about the Operation Muskaan and Bharosa Centre services, Telangana Police’s draft action plan, the need to work as a unified system and concluded that today’s discussions should be turned into a concrete roadmap and present at the national consultation in New Delhi next month.

Hon’ble Justice Moushumi Bhattacharya, Chairperson, Juvenile Justice Committee, spoke on the importance of holistic and timely support, child-friendly procedures. Mr. Sonykutty George, Child Protection Specialist, UNICEF, stressed the need for a data-driven system to assess vulnerabilities, and improve convergence among agencies.

The four sessions and over all consultation served as a platform to reflect on the challenges and emphasised stronger coordination, rehabilitation, reintegration, and moving from measures on paper to practices that truly uphold rights, safety, welfare, child-centric justice system.
