I feel lucky to have finished my UG before the ChatGPT era. UGs and high school students today, in sciences and humanities alike, are less likely to feel the joy of presenting original thoughts and writing authentic answers in their assignments.

It is also going to be challenging for the instructors to distinguish the ChatGPT answers from the original ones. This will be an additional but an important responsibility for the instructors as well. Will be interesting to see how evaluation structures evolve.

Even if some are brave enough to be authentic, they will always be met with suspicion and distrust by the instructor, and rightfully so. The real victims will be those who dare to be authentic but still get penalized due to such distrust.
