Another shameless refusal from the Public Information Officer (Ex) of the @tnhrcedept Ms. Vanmathi.

She has been promoted to the post of Additional Commissioner from the post of Joint Commissioner. She to WAS a good officer. She was victimized by a former Commissioner of the Department - one Dhanapal who was unceremoniously ousted from his post by former Chief Minister J Jayalalitha.
Vanmathi was under suspension only due to victimization by that Commissioner.

That's past history and she is now an Additional Commissioner and I wish her well.

It appears Madam forgot to post a (shameless and legally unsustainable refusal of information) to me. Almost a month after she signed (09.0 6.2026) this refusal of information, it is sent to me on 06.07.2026 and I received it today.

These are all mice in the room. Many of these @tnhrcedept including former Commissioners should be serving imprisonment for the elephants in the room - - The various instances of chronic looting of Temple Funds and Properties.

1. வேதாரண்யேஸ்வரர் கோயிலின் வேதாரண்யம் நகரில் பட்டா கொண்ட 0.28 ஏக்கர் அரிச்சந்திர குளம் எனப்படும் அக்னிதீர்த்தம் குளத்தை தூர்த்து கட்டிடம் கட்டி ஆக்கிரமித்தது பேரூராட்சி. 1998இல் போதிய ஆதாரங்கள் சமர்ப்பிக்காமல் தான் தொடுத்த வழக்கில் (எண்33/87) தோற்ற கோயில் நிர்வாகம். பேரூராட்சிக்கு கோயில் நிர்வாகம் விட்டுக்கொடுத்த நிலையில் அரசே கோயில் குளத்தை சட்டவிரோதமாக ஆக்கிரமிக்கும் அவலம் நிலவுகிறது.

2. கோயிலுக்கு சொந்தமான 116 திருக்குளங்களில் 2015 ஆம் தணிக்கையின் போது மிஞ்சி இருப்பதாக சொல்லப்படுவது 52 குளங்கள் மட்டுமே. பாசிக்குத்தகை கேட்பு பதிவேடு சரிவர பராமரிக்கப்படாத நிலையில் இந்த குளங்களும் உண்மையில் திருக்கோயில் வசம் உள்ளதா என்பது கேள்விக்குறியாகிறது.

In the last few months of DMK rule before the Assembly elections, four amendments were carried out by the Government in the TN HR&CE Act, 1959 and in certain Rules under the Act.
1. Amendments in Section 35 to facilitate unbridled looting of temple funds (L.A. Bill 40 of 2025)
2. Amendments to Alienation of Immovable Properties of Religious Institutions Rules to facilitate chronic encroachers of temple lands (G.O. 478 dtd. 01.12.2025)
3. Amendment to Investments of Temple Funds Rules (G.O. 83 dtd. 17.02.2026)
4. Amendment to Fixation of Lease rents to properties of Hindu Religious Institutions (G.O. 29 dtd. 14.01.2026)

The common thread in all the above four amendments made by DMK Govt is "facilitation of Temple Looting"

1. Amendment to Section 35 - Since it is an amendment to the Act - not yet valid since it has not been approved by Hon'ble Governor of Tamil Nadu.
2. Amendment to Alienation of Temple Properties Rules - Atrocious Anti -Temple move by Anti-Hindu DMK Govt - I will be challenging this soon.
3. Investment Rules - I challenged it in May 2026 - the new Government was gracious to accord sovereign guarantee to Temple Deposits made in TN Power Finance - an NBFC owned by TN Govt. This case will come up again in 4 weeks.

4. Amendment to Fixation of Lease Rent Rules -
a set of botched up Rules conceived in a hurry by misfits under directions of DMK Govt - too many contradictions and violations.
My challenge to this set of absurd Rules came up as a PIL today before Madras High Court.

Hon'ble 1st Bench of the Madras High Court was pleased to issue notice to Government and @tnhrcedept today.

My gratitude to Sr. Counsel Shri Sankaranarayanan Sir and advocate Shri B. Jagannath.

I request Hon'ble Chief Minister @CMOTamilnadu and Hon'ble Minister for @tnhrcedept Shri @RameshOffcl to review these anti- Hindu and anti-Temple Amendments in the HR&CE Act & Rules made by DMK Government and withdraw/cancel them to safeguard our temples.

‼️🚨 1000yrs old Somasekhara Swamy Hindu temple is in complete ruins in Kaleshwaram, Telangana.

Instead of attending & opening mic sets to churches(who contributed 0 to govt), Devadaya Dharmadaya Minister Konda Surekha garu should focus on Hindu temples and revive this Somasekhara Swamy temple which is in complete ruins.

It’s sad to see the state of this Shivalingam. There are so many vigraha Murthys buried under these ruins.

A convention centre named "Kalaignar Arivalayam" being built at a cost Rs. 550 Crores near Mahabalipuram.
Public Works Department of TN Government is building it. Former Chief Minister @mkstalin inspected the ongoing works two days ago - in what capacity - I do not know.

A news report in @the_hindu says that the project is waiting for 7.62 acres of land to be "transferred" by @tnhrcedept -
it is obvious that these lands would either be Hindu Temple lands or Hindu Endowments' lands since the misfits in @tnhrcedept are aware that the Fraud Department has zero lands to offer or transfer. It seems @the_hindu newspaper is not aware.

HR&CE Minister @RameshOffcl should take immediate steps to prevent alienation/transfer of lands of Hindu institutions for the purposes of convention hall named after anti-Hindu Karunanidhi.

After all, the lands are said to be required for entrance arch, landscaping etc. of the convention hall. Not at all essential.

Hindu Temple/Endowment lands are NOT sitting ducks to be taken by misfits, frauds and the corrupt.

As a 7 Judge Bench of Hon'ble Supreme Court said in 1954 they are generally INALIENABLE.
